Jefferson County Animal Control

The Department of Jefferson County Animal Control is dedicated to serve and protect the public's health and safety and to assure the welfare of animals by promoting and providing for their safe, humane and lawful treatment.  The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.  The office is closed Sundays and holidays.

Jefferson County Animal Control responds to Emergency calls (after hours) Monday-Friday from 7:30pm to 8:00am and all day Saturday/Sunday and Holidays.  Emergency calls would include a domestic animal that is injured, animal bites, agressive dog(s) attacking humans, companion animals  or livestock, rabies exposures.  The public should call Jefferson County Communications at 304-725-8484 to report an emergency situation.  Phone messages left on the Jefferson County Animal Control phone number will be returned on the next business day.
