Jefferson County Commission Meetings and Policies

Regular Session Meeting Day

.....The regular meetings of the Jefferson County Commission are held in the County Commission Courtroom, located in the Courthouse at 100 East Washington Street, Charles Town, West Virginia.

.....The County Commissioners receive their agenda packets approximately half an hour before the Commission meeting begins, in their office, located at 124 East Washington Street, Charles Town.

.....The regular County Commission meeting commences at 9:30 a.m. each Thursday. The County Commission meets in regular session until all business is complete. The Commission may recess and reconvene to complete the business of the day. At all times, the public is invited and welcomed to attend any County Commission meeting.

Jefferson County Commission Agenda Policy

..... The agenda for each County Commission meeting is prepared by the Commission staff. All appointments for the County Commission are to be made with the County Commission staff prior to 12:00 noon, the second day preceding the Commission meeting. The County Commission requires written documentation from the individual(s) requesting the appointment in order to make copies for the County Commission agenda packet or in the event research needs to be completed by the staff concerning the particular issue. Similarly, correspondence requiring a decision are subject to the same deadline of 12:00 noon, the second day preceding the County Commission meeting. The agenda will be available no later than 3:00 p.m. Individuals who wish to address the Commission may request to be heard fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled time the meeting is to commence by contacting the County Commission office. Said individuals may be recognized by the President as time permits during the meeting or after all business is completed.

Jefferson County Commission Electronic Recording Policy

..... Meetings of the County Commission are electronically recorded and kept permanently. Anyone wishing to obtain a copy media of any Commission Meeting must make a request for the media in writing and provide payment of $10.00 . After payment is received, the media will be provided within five (5) working days.

Photocopies, Faxes, Etc.

..... Copies of materials within the County Commission office will be provided to anyone who visits the office. The cost for each copy will be $1.00. Payment for the copy must be made at the time the copy is received. Copies of materials may not be faxed or mailed.
