Beginning Tuesday, September 12,the Rt. 340 stretch "between the bridges" will be closed for a period of 90 calendar days. The project area is approximately one mile long and is located along the northbound (NB) and southbound (SB) lanes of US 340 in Jefferson County, WV, in the Loudoun Heights region of the Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park and west of the West Virginia / Virginia border on the southern bank of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.
The closure is necessary for rock slope remediation to protect the safety of the drivers on Rt. 340. Additional details regarding the detour can be found at the links provided below. Updated information pertaining to the closure and/or detour will be posted as it's made available.
