CHARLES TOWN, WV (September 17, 2026) – The Jefferson County Commission will hold a Valley Link Transmission Link Project Town Hall on Tuesday, September 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Commission Meeting Room at 393 N. Lawrence St. in Charles Town.
The Commission has formally stated its opposition to the proposed transmission line through two separate resolutions and believes residents deserve a meaningful opportunity to be heard about the potential impacts on their homes, farms, property, historic sites, communities, and quality of life.
While Valley Link has hosted an open house, many residents continue to express concerns that their voices are not being heard or that insufficient information has been provided. The Valley Link Transmission Link Project Town Hall will provide an opportunity for residents to share concerns, discuss potential impacts, ask questions, and explore possible solutions.
Valley Link representatives have been invited to attend and have declined the invitation. The primary focus of the Valley Link Transmission Link Project Town Hall will be hearing directly from Jefferson County residents, particularly those who may be affected by the project.
The Commission strongly encourages residents to attend and participate.
