This course familiarizes first responders with how to recognize hazardous materials and what initial actions can be taken to ensure the safety of the responders and the community. Topics include the proper use of the DOT Emergency Response Guidebook, identifying the primary hazards associated with each hazard class and division, and identifying the role of the awareness level personnel during hazardous materials/WMD incidents.
