Goal

     The goal of this webpage is to keep Jefferson County informed of the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a complex and fluid situation. We hope this page provides the public with useful, accurate, and pertinent information.

What is the Coronavirus? 

The 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new virus that causes respiratory illness in people and can spread from person-to-person. This virus was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China. Symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, cough, and shortness of breath. These symptoms can develop anywhere between two and fourteen days of being exposed to the virus.

 It is crucial for everyone to ensure they are receiving and sharing accurate information. There is a multitude of misinformation surrounding this pandemic. Please ensure you are gathering and disseminating information from appropriate sources such as the CDC, WVDHHR, Local Health Department, and this webpage.
