To support the needs of citizens, businesses, and government by developing, maintaining, and providing accurate, current and cost-effective geospatial information and database management systems through the use of the highest professional standards and ethics.
Vision for 2026
These are specific tasks our office wishes to complete this year.
- Customer Service
- Continue to strive to provide citizens with the best support possible
- Continue to improve and expand online GIS services
- Permit Project
- Move 1990s digitized permits to MGO
- Complete digitization of remaining permits
- History Layer Buildout
- Complete historical buildout of Planning & Zoning layers
- Work with other departments to discover useful historical layers
- Sign Maintenance Project
- Generate data layer inventory of all County road signs
- Perform audit of faded/hard to read County road signs
- Replace signs determined to be a hazard to emergency response
- JC Administrative Center
- Transition to new building at 393 N. Lawrence St
- Migrate Emergency Communications Center Software
- Upgrade from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro
- Create Standard Operating Procedures for Common GIS/CAD tasks
- Generate manuals for all common tasks, including addressing, plan reviews, ticketing, etc
- Spillman Address Maintenance Project
- Perform audit of addressing records in Spillman software and clean up any issues
- Public Outreach
- Provide better information to citizens of mapping services
