2045 Comprehensive Plan Update
Welcome to the 2045 Comprehensive Plan! By West Virginia State Code 8A-3-11 Jefferson County is required to update the Comprehensive Plan every 10 years. Each Comprehensive Plan looks 20 years into the future to predict trends and adjust to the new changes in and around the community. Because the previous update, Envision Jefferson, will be turning 10 years old in January 2025, we have begun work on the 2045 Comprehensive Plan Update.
Over the next two years Planning Commission will be preparing the Comprehensive Plan Update for County Commission to review and approve. During the drafting stages there will be various avenues for citizen input including two surveys and four public meetings. We encourage everyone to participate in determining the direction of Jefferson County!
Thank you to everyone who provided written comments for the Planning Commission. All of the submitted written comments can be viewed below. If you still would like to provide comments, the County Commission will be holding a Public Hearing prior to the adoption of the 2045 Comprehensive Plan update. When the public hearing is scheduled the date will be posted here and on the County Commission website.
