Strategic Directions

 

The Jefferson County Commission Information Technology Department operates based on the following principles and visions to achieve its mission of providing information technologies that enhance, assist and perpetuate a more sound, fundamental and efficient service environment for the residents, businesses and visitors of Jefferson County, West Virginia.

 

  • Information Technology should be utilized in a manner consistent with the following:

    • Serve all Jefferson County

    • Provide consistent and timely access

    • Be non-discriminatory

    • Be User Friendly

       

  • Information Technology will strive to provide services that are dependable and easy to use

     

  • Information Technology will research and evaluate new technologies in an effort to better streamline operations and achieve operational efficiencies

     

  • Information Technology will support administration, user and community groups to further enhance the end user experience when utilizing Jefferson County Information Technology Services

     

  • Information Technology will promote cost effective solutions to all Information Technology Initiatives and Projects

     

  • Information Technology will look not only to inside funding sources but also external sources to provide grants and other means to achieve a more robust computing environment

     

  • Information Technology will utilize all means available to secure the network infrastructure and computing environment of the Jefferson County Commission
