James Hite Park
James Hite Park opened to the public in 2016, offering soccer fields, a 2-mile walking loop trail, small picnic pavilion rental and use, playground, and public fishing. Thanks to a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant, Levitt Foundation Grant, and contributions from Charles Town Kiwanis and Johanna Luciano-Parker Dentistry for supporting the playground construction.
JAMES HITE PARK IS A TRASH FREE PARK. There are no trash cans provided in this park. Please take your trash with you when you leave. Carry-In/Carry Out. Thanks! THANK YOU!
Future expansion of the park will facilitate the needs of the active and passive recreation user in Jefferson County. The plan includes fitness, walking trails, baseball, softball, soccer fields, football fields, basketball and tennis courts, tot lots and playgrounds, a skate park, a dog park, a mini golf course, and supporting facilities.
The Master Plan also incorporates a high emphasis on passive recreation opportunities and includes a series of picnic pavilions and shelters and outdoor games to take advantage of the 119 acre site's natural amenities and treed areas.
Construction on the park began Spring 2015.
